Evaluation of Behavioral Aspects
In this chapter, we evaluate the implemented culture-related behaviors with users from either a German or Japanese cultural background. With the evaluation studies, we investigate whether human observers prefer agent behavior that is in line with observations made for their own cultural background. This was suggested by Lee and Nass [LN98] who found out that the ethnicity of an agent affects the user’s attitude and that users perceive more trust towards agents with a similar cultural background.
