Zusammenfassung
Entwicklungspolitik etablierte sich in den 1950er-Jahren als globales Politikfeld. Programmatisch bewegt sie sich seither zwischen Wachstumsförderung und Armutsbekämpfung. Inzwischen existiert ein global handelndes Institutionengeflecht aus multilateralen, nationalstaatlichen und nichtstaatlichen Organisationen. Obwohl die Strategien und der Erfolg der Entwicklungspolitik Gegenstand umfassender Kritik sind, ist die Forderung nach der Intensivierung der Entwicklungspolitik ungebrochen.
