Zusammenfassung

Ausgehend vom gegenwärtigen Paradox der Über- und Unterernährung geht der Beitrag dessen strukturellen Gründen im Agrar- und Ernährungssystem der letzten 150 Jahre nach. Er skizziert die Grundzüge des britisch zentrierten ersten Nahrungsregimes (extensive food regime) von den 1870er- bis zu den 1930er-Jahren, des US-zentrierten zweiten Regimes (intensive food regime) von den 1940er- bis zu den 1970er-Jahren und des WTO-zentrierten dritten Regimes (corporate food regime) seit den 1980er-Jahren. Schließlich umreißt er gegenwärtige Strategien – neoliberale, reformistische, progressive und radikale – des agroindustriellen Ausbaus bzw. sozial- und umweltverträglichen Umbaus des globalen Agrar- und Ernährungssystems.
