Zusammenfassung

In der zweiten Hälfte der 1980er- und zu Beginn der 1990er-Jahre formierte sich unter dem Terminus ‚Post-Development‘ ein heterogenes theoretisches Paradigma, das frühere (Fundamental-)Kritiken von Entwicklung/szusammenarbeit auf eine neue Art radikalisierte und jegliche reformistische Bestrebungen für ‚alternative‘ Entwicklungsstrategien zurückwies. In Rückgriff auf poststrukturalistische, post- und dekoloniale sowie ideologiekritische Theorieelemente problematisiert Post-Development ‚Entwicklung‘ als Konzept und politisches Projekt, das auf der Basis (euro-)zentristischer, kapitalistischer, wachstumsorientierter und androzentrischer Gesellschafts- und Wertesysteme in einer herrschaftslegitimierenden Weise die sogenannte ‚Dritte Welt‘ als ‚unterentwickelt‘ und ‚rückständig‘ kartiert und damit (nachholende) ‚Entwicklung‘ als einzig intelligibles Orientierungsmodell für jeglichen ‚sozialen Wandel‘ etablieren konnte. Im Post-Development wird im Gegenzug nach politischen Räumen und (Denk-)Praxen zur Transgression dieser ‚Hegemonie der Entwicklung‘ gesucht, damit ‚Alternativen zur Entwicklung‘ wieder als wünsch- und imaginierbar erscheinen (können).
