Zur kritischen Verortung eines neuen Narratives österreichischer Integrationspolitik

Zusammenfassung

Dieser Satz aus dem Leitbild des österreichischen Staatssekretariats für Integration (SSI) bringt die seit seiner Gründung 2011 dominierende integrationspolitische Botschaft auf den Punkt: Integration soll nicht länger eine Frage der Überwindung von kultureller Diff erenz sein, sondern in Form von Einkommen, Ausmaß an Freiwilligenarbeit oder Schulnoten als messbare Leistung von MigrantInnen verstanden werden. Dabei handelt es sich nicht unbedingt um eine völlig neue politische Erzählung – ökonomische Aspekte haben nicht nur in Österreich schon in den Anfängen der Integrationspolitik eine zentrale Rolle gespielt (z. B. Michalowski 2006) – sie kann jedoch als Kontrast zu der vom „Paradigma kultureller Differenz“ (Sökefeld 2004) getragenen Argumentation der 2000er Jahre gesehen werden (Mourão Permoser und Rosenberger 2012).
