Dieser Beitrag erörtert das Thema Infrastruktur aus volkswirtschaftlicher Sicht. Behandelt werden vor allem die Produktivitäts- und Wachstumseffekte von Infrastrukturinvestitionen und die Arbeitsteilung zwischen Staat und Markt bei der Bereitstellung. Der Beitrag geht auch auf einige aktuelle Politikfelder ein, wie die Verschlechterung der Infrastruktur in Deutschland, den damit verbundenen zukünftigen Finanzierungsbedarf, die Rolle der Nutzerfinanzierung und PPP-Modelle.
