Zusammenfassung

In der deutschsprachigen Raum- und Landschaftsforschung wird Macht insgesamt eher selten thematisiert und wenn, dann oftmals kursorisch und kaum unter expliziter Bezugnahme auf bestimmte Machtkonzepte oder -theorien. Vor diesem Hintergrund zielt der vorliegende Beitrag darauf ab, ausgewählte theoretische Zugänge zu ‚Macht‘ vorzustellen, die Potenziale unterschiedlicher Machtkonzepte für die Analyse von Landschaften zu erörtern sowie schließlich Thesen und Fragen zum Mehrwert einer expliziten Berücksichtigung von Macht in der Landschaftsforschung zu formulieren. Dabei unterscheide ich zwischen (a) einem rationalistischen, kausalistischen und (b) einem poststrukturalistischen Machtbegriff. Landschaften erscheinen in jedem Fall als physisches Substrat gesellschaftlicher Machtverhältnisse, das die Wahrnehmungen und Handlungen von Akteuren in bestimmte Bahnen lenkt und dazu beitragen kann, bestehende Herrschafts- und Unterdrückungsmechanismen als normal erscheinen zu lassen und damit zu stabilisieren. Wünschenswert für die Zukunft wären Untersuchungen, die das Augenmerk verstärkt darauf richten, dass es und wie es Akteuren gelungen ist, Unterdrückungssysteme aufzubrechen und demokratischere, ‚gerechtere‘ Landschaften zu schaffen.
