Zusammenfassung

Der Fokus dieses Artikels liegt auf einer kleinen, aber bedeutsamen religiösen Gemeinschaft, der (Herrnhuter) Brüdergemeine und seiner besonderen geschlechtsspezifischen Mitgliederorganisation. Die Brüdergemeine hatte im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert viele Gemeinden in ganz Europa sowie in verschiedenen Kolonien und ist bis heute noch aktiv. Im Folgenden geht es um den Ursprungsort Herrnhut in der Oberlausitz in der Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts.
