Abstract

As pointed out in Section 2.3 the steel industry has a unique set of challenges that must be considered when attempting a quantitative scheduling optimization. The variety of challenges can be clustered into three groups, i.e., challenges due to equipment and production setup, product portfolio and demand challenges, and the characteristics of quantitative scheduling tools.
