Abstract
The paper describes a new bascule bridge, built in the harbour České Vrbné. The bridge enables ships to pass under the bridge up to height of 5,25 m. A great accent was given on the global aesthetical design of the bridge, as the new dominant in the area. A number of static and dynamic verifications were done on the bridge, including the simulation of wind effect, measuring of modal characteristics and dynamical impact of vehicles. The results and the comparison with the theoretical values obtained from the FEM model are given.
