Zusammenfassung
Berufsbiographische Untersuchungen belegen, dass es eine Vielzahl von Faktoren gibt, welche die Berufswahl beeinflussen können. Diese Einflussgrößen lassen sich grob in Faktoren einteilen, die sich unmittelbar aus der Person des Berufswählers, seiner Lebensgeschichte, seinen Anlagen und seinem Entscheidungsverhalten ableiten (endogen), und solchen, die den sozial-strukturellen, gesellschaftlichen oder wirtschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen geschuldet sind (exogen). Hierzu korrespondierende Theorien der Berufswahl konzentrieren sich darauf, die einzelnen Faktoren in ein sinnvolles Ganzes einzuordnen, wobei sich leicht erkennen lässt, welchem fachdisziplinären Ursprung die einzelne Theorie aufgrund ihrer Schwerpunktsetzung entspringt. In diesem Beitrag soll als erstes eine Einordung des Konzepts der Berufswahl in das reflexiv-interaktive Modell der Persönlichkeitsentwicklung vorgenommen werden, um anschließend spezifische Theorien der Laufbahnentwicklung vorstellen zu können. Von Berücksichtigung erhält ebenso die Bedeutung der Identitätsbildung im Allgemeinen und im Rahmen der Theorien der Laufbahnentwicklung. Die prominenten Modelle von Donald E. Super (life-cycle approach) und John Holland (Typologische Theorie) werden näher erläutert und auf ihre empirische Relevanz hin geprüft. Zudem werden Modellerweiterungen, die sich aufgrund der zunehmenden Flexibilisierung der Arbeitswelt ergeben und somit auch Limitationen der statisch gedachten entwicklungsorientierten Ansätze aufzeigen, diskutiert. Im Anschluss wird ein integratives Modell der beruflichen Laufbahnentwicklung (BELA-M) von Andrea E. Abele vorgestellt, welches das Zusammenspiel zwischen personenbezogenen Faktoren und Umweltbedingungen am Beispiel einer Längsschnittstudie verdeutlicht.
