Zusammenfassung
In aktuellen Debatten der Wirtschaftssoziologie und der Politischen Ökonomie werden Phänomene der institutionellen Durchsetzung von Marktmechanismen in zuvor nicht-marktlich koordinierten gesellschaftlichen Feldern diskutiert. Entsprechende Prozesse der Etablierung instrumenteller Handlungsorientierungen lassen sich auf der Ebene einzelner Organisationen wie auch in organisationsübergreifenden sozialen Feldern identifizieren. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz soll zum Verständnis dieser Phänomene der Durchsetzung marktlicher Koordinierungsmodelle das Konzept der „Vermarktlichung“ vorgestellt werden. Vermarktlichung meint dabei, dass eine ökonomische Logik erwerbswirtschaftlicher Warenproduktion zum dominanten Strukturprinzip eines sozialen Feldes wird, wobei sich auf individueller wie kollektiver Ebene wettbewerbsorientierte Regeln und Normen durchsetzen. Dabei sind Vermarktlichungsprozesse an spezifische Diskurse und Paradigmen gebunden, die den Akteuren eine entsprechende Handlungsorientierung vorgeben.
