Zusammenfassung
Die Bestimmung der Abgaszusammensetzung sowie der Gesamtmassen an emittierten Schadstoffen und Klimagasen wird ein immer wichtiger und aufwendiger Teil der Motoren- und Fahrzeugentwicklung.
Die Motivation, Abgas zu messen, kann in drei Hauptbereiche unterteilt werden. Einerseits ist von den Fahrzeug und Motorenherstellern die Erfüllung der gesetzlichen Vorgaben entsprechend der geltenden Emissionslimits nachzuweisen. Andererseits bietet die Abgasanalyse wesentlich Informationen zur Entwicklung und Optimierung von Brennverfahren und Abgasnachbehandlungssystemen. Zusätlich ist im Sinne einer nachhaltigen und verantwortungsvollen Verwendung von Verbrennungsmotoren sicherzustellen, dass umwelt- und klimarelevante Schadstoffe minimiert werden. In diesem Kapitel wird ein Überblick über die gesetzlich relevanten als auch im Motorenentwicklungsprozess eingesetzten Abgasmess- und Analyseverfahren sowohl für gas- als auch partikelförmige Emittenten gegeben.
