Zusammenfassung
Die moderne Kriegsführung ist einem weitreichenden Wandel unterworfen. Dies ist zum Teil der Entwicklung von hochtechnisierten, computergestützten Waffensystemen und militärischen Robotern geschuldet. Der Einsatz unbemannter Systeme, insbesondere unbemannter Flugzeuge (sogenannter Drohnen), hat zu einer verstärkten Debatte über die Nutzung dieser und zukünftiger robotischer Waffentechnologie geführt. Welche Systeme sind für diese Diskussion relevant? Wie unterscheiden sie sich von früheren Systemen? Und schließlich: welche Gefahren gehen von diesen Systemen aus? Diesen Fragen wird in diesem Kapitel nachgegangen. Im ersten Teil werden konzeptionelle Fragen der Robotik geklärt und ein Überblick über den gegenwärtigen Stand der technischen Entwicklung gegeben.
