Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag untersucht Grundstrukturen von Ordnungsbildung und Entgrenzung im weltpolitischen System. Hierzu werden zentrale Theorien globaler politischer Ordnungsbildung in den Internationalen Beziehungen (vor allem das Konzept der Primärinstitutionen in der Englischen Schule) mit historisch inspirierten Theorien gesellschaftlicher Ordnung der Soziologie verbunden. Der Beitrag argumentiert, dass globale politische Ordnung wesentlich durch weltgesellschaftliche „Irritationen“, vor allem funktionale Differenzierung und das Inklusionspostulat mit Blick auf die moderne Idee des Individuums, geprägt ist. Der Beitrag diskutiert, inwieweit hierdurch Integration und Fragmentierung in der globalen Politik geprägt werden und was die Chancen für eine globale Entgrenzung von Demokratie sind.
