Zusammenfassung
Dieses Kapitel widmet sich dem Zusammenhang zwischen Kultur und Innovation auf nationaler Ebene. Es wird dargestellt, welche Kulturdimensionen den stärksten Zusammenhang mit Innovationen auf der Landesebene aufweisen. Ferner werden charakteristische Kombinationen (kulturelle Konfigurationen) innovationsrelevanter Kulturdimensionen dargestellt. Es wird deutlich werden, dass Gruppenkollektivismus, Unsicherheitsvermeidung und Humanorientierung über verschiedene innovationsbezogene Indizes hinweg (Global Innovation Index 2010 und 2011, Porter & Stern Index) die stärksten und konsistentesten Positivprädiktoren der Innovativität in 55 Ländern sind. Darüber hinaus präzisieren Clusteranalysen, dass spezifische Kombinationen dieser drei Kulturdimensionen existieren, anhand derer sich Länder gruppieren lassen. Hoch innovative Länder zeichnen sich durch niedrige Unsicherheitsvermeidung und niedrigen Gruppenkollektivismus und parallel hoch ausgeprägter Humanorientierung aus.
