Zusammenfassung
Ausgehend von der Erkenntnis, dass ökologische Zerstörung nicht zuletzt das Ergebnis wirtschaftlicher Fehlentwicklungsprozesse ist, wird zunehmend eine Ausrichtung an Nachhaltigkeitsprinzipien, d.h. eine Integration von Ökonomie und ßkologie, gefordert. Ecopreneur-Unternehmen, deren selbsterklärtes Ziel es ist, Umweltziele und Profitmaximierung paritätisch zu integrieren, gelten hierbei als Hoffnungsträger. Aber können Unternehmen tatsächlich ökonomische und ökologische Erwartungen in Einklang bringen? Wie lösen sie die immanenten Widersprüche auf? Die pluralistische Perspektive der Economie des Conventions wird in diesem Beitrag als theoretischer Rahmen für eine Dispositivanalyse herangezogen, die einerseits vielfältige Kompromisse und andererseits gleichzeitig fortbestehende Konflikte aufdeckt. Widersprüche zumindest temporär zu versöhnen, gelingt den untersuchten Ecopreneuren, indem sie gezielt in stabilisierende Formen, wie z.B. Sustainability-Reports oder Öko-Bilanzen, investieren. Im Rahmen der Analyse werden nicht nur die Argumentations- und Handlungsmuster von Ecopreneuren rekonstruiert, sondern auch das enorme Potential aufgezeigt, das die EC für weiterführende Corporate-Sustainability-Forschung bietet.
