Understanding and combating unequal ageing

Soziale Gerontologie in gesellschaftlicher Verantwortung

Zusammenfassung

It is a great pleasure to contribute to this volume in honour of my good friend and colleague in many joint research and writing endeavours, Gerd Naegele. It would have been possible to pick any number of topics for this chapter to reflect Gerds’ contribution to social policy and social gerontology, such as older workers and the labour market, ageing politics, pensions and social protection in old age and comparative European social policy, because his research career has ranged over a very wide field.
