Abstract

This thesis started with the question, how family influence affects incumbent organizations’ adaptation patterns to discontinuous technological change (see Chapter 1.2). My conceptual and empirical findings show that family influence does indeed impact organizations’ responses to discontinuous technological changes, regarding their type of adaptation, as well as speed, intensity, stamina, and flexibility of the adoption of the new technology.
