In the following chapter of my thesis, I aim to illuminate the relationship between family influence and organizational adaptation to discontinuous change from a different epistemological perspective, thereby drawing on empirical evidence from multiple case studies, which aim to answer the following research questions:
  1. (1)

    How do family influenced firms adapt to discontinuous technological changes and why? and

  2. (2)

    Does variance exist within the response patterns of family influenced firms to discontinuous technological changes, and if so, why?
