Abstract
The research question refers to how sensemaking actually unfolds in the pursuit of innovation development in organizational innovation communities. Applying an action research approach in four empirical settings, analysis discloses a distinct set of factors. The following sections describe findings related to 1) coherence, 2) cognition, 3) collaboration, and 4) outcomes. Building on these results a model of sensemaking in organizational innovation communities is developed in the discussion section.
