Zusammenfassung
Für die Behandlung partieller Differentialgleichungen wie auch für die mathematischen Grundlagen der Quantenmechanik bedarf es einer Erweiterung unseres mathematischen Rüstzeugs. Problemorientiertes Vorgehen, also Bereitstellung der mathematischen Hilfsmittel jeweils nach Bedarf, würde die Geschlossenheit der Argumentation bei den im folgenden behandelten Themenbereichen stören; auch werden einige dieser Hilfsmittel an mehreren Stellen benötigt.
