Abstract
Neo-institutional theory supported the formulation of hypotheses that guide the empirical research process. These hypotheses can be tested thus delivering testimony of the explanatory power of this theory. Here, a mixed approach will be used which has become an important tool in social sciences (Kelle & Erzberger, 2000; Mayer, 2003; Philipp Mayring, 2001; Tashakkori & Teddlie, 2003).
