„Die Industrie ist wieder da“, so titelte im Oktober 2012 die Frankfurter Allge-meine Sonntagszeitung über die Rückkehr der Industrie und die Krisenfestigkeit insbesondere des deutschen Maschinenbaus (Nienhaus, 2012, S. 1). Die Autorin argumentiert, dass es nicht der Dienstleistungssektor gewesen sei, der Deutschland vor den Auswirkungen der Finanz- und Eurokrise nach 2008 bewahrt habe, sondern die Konstanz des Absatzes im Maschinenbau.
