Es wird berichtet über 450 Patienten, die im Alter von 80–103 Jahren wegen verschiedener allgemeinchirurgischer Erkrankungen in der Zeit von 1958–1968 in der Chirurgischen Universitätsklinik Düsseldorf (Direktor: Professor Dr. Dr. Dr. E. Derra) in Allgemeinnarkose — z.T. mehrmals — operiert wurden.
