Abstract

It is clear that the multi-species management program was a rather ambitious project. Much theoretical work is needed in both oceanography, biology, economics and statistics to form a solid basis for such large scale modelling. Furthermore, enormous estimation problems are encountered in different parts of the models, calling for masses of data and a variety of statistical methods. Thus, the enterprise may seem like trying to solve an infinite task in a 5-years research program.
