Abstract
Under rather weak conditions, the possibilities of reducing stochastic (project-) networks are completely characterized. It turns out, that these are exactly those for reducing partially ordered sets by a certain class of homomorphisms. For this class a theorem of Jordan-Hölder-type is known, that can thus be applied to stochastic networks and leads to some results on invariance.
