Zusammenfassung
Die einst konservative, stabile und prognostizierbare Bankbranche, deren Fachleute sich bis vor einigen Jahren „Bankbeamte“ nannten, steht mitten im radikalen Wandel. Was noch vor fünf oder zehn Jahren als undenkbar bezeichnet wurde, wird heute nicht nur gedacht, sondern ist zum grossen Teil schon passiert. Externe Beobachter und betroffene Branche sind sich einig, dass die Phase des Wandels für die Banken noch lange nicht abgeschlossen ist. Über das Ziel der Reise lässt sich bestenfalls intelligent spekulieren. Die Banken bilden damit ein spannendes und herausforderndes Wirkungsfeld für den Business Engineers. Nicht ohne Grund stammt ein stattlicher Anteil der schon diplomierten Masters of Business Engineering (MBE HSG) der Universität St.Gallen aus dem Finanzbereich oder arbeitet in diesem Wirtschaftszweig.
