Zusammenfassung
Die zunehmende Entwicklung von internationalen Märkten, von internationalen Wirtschafts-, Handels- und Produktionsstrukturen stellt eine globale Herausforderung für ein Großteil von Unternehmen und Organisationen dar. Anders als in einer rein nationalen Lebenswelt erschweren kulturelle Unterschiede allzuoft eine erfolgreiche internationale Zusammenarbeit. Kulturelle Unterschiede, die an den verschiedensten Stellen das internationale Projektmanagement beinflussen, können insofern als besondere Problematik für ein erfolgreiches Management verstanden werden. Darüber hinaus stellen sie aber ebenfalls eine Herausforderung dar, inbesondere als Motor für die persönliche Entwicklung von interkultureller Kompetenz und schließlich auch für die Organisationsentwicklung als Ganzes. Erst ein tieferes Verständnis von kulturellen Unterschieden ermöglicht jedoch die optimale Ausnutzung dieses Innovationspotenzials. Der Ansatz des interkulturellen Managements eröffnet die Chance der Nutzbarmachung dieses Potenzials.
