Wo es im alltäglichen Gespräch heißt, daß Sie fünf Freunde nach ihrer Meinung zur Farbe eines Autos gefragt haben, spricht ein Statistiker von einem erhobenen Datensatz vom Umfang fünf zur Erfassung des nominal skalierten Merkmals „subjektiver Farbgeschmack“ der Merkmalsträger „Personen“.
