Zusammenfassung

Äußerer Gehörgang und Mittelohr lassen sich am besten mit der Computertomographie darstellen. Bei Patienten mit einer Schallempfindungsstörung, Drehschwindel oder Tinnitus ist jedoch eine Untersuchung von Innenohr, innerem Gehörgang, Kleinhirnbrückenwinkel sowie auditorischen und vestibulären Bahnen in Gehirn und Hirnstamm erforderlich. Nur die MRT ist in der Lage, diese Strukturen verläßlich darzustellen und pathologische Veränderungen mit ausreichender Sensitivität nachzuweisen. Die MRT ist inzwischen auch Methode der Wahl bei Läsionen im Bereich der Felsenbeinspitze (Cholesteringranu-lom, angeborenes Cholesteatom) sowie in der Diagnostik von Meningo(enzephalo)zelen bei Defekten im Dach der Paukenhöhle.
