Zusammenfassung
Während es sich beim Erbrechen um einen aktiven Vorgang handelt, der durch eine Antiperistaltik im Magen-Darm-Trakt ausgelöst wird, tritt eine Regurgitation bei erhöhtem Mageninnendruck bzw. lagerungsbedingt passiv auf. Intraoperativ, v. a. nach Succinylcholin (Erhöhung des Mageninndrucks durch Muskelfibrillationen), bei Beatmung bzw. bei tief bewußtlosen Patienten kommt es durch Erschlaffung des unteren Ösophagussphinkters zu einem Abfluß von Mageninhalt in den Oropharynx. Eine Prämedikation mit Atropin sowie ein liegender Magenschlauch erleichtern die Regurgitation; bei geriatrischen Patienten tritt dieses Ereignis häufiger auf als bei jugendlichen Patienten.
