Zusammenfassung
Die Hauptaufgabe der neurochirurgischen Intensivmedizin besteht darin, die noch erhaltenen neurologischen Funktionen maximal zu schützen. Dies erfolgt im wesentlichen durch Sicherstellung einer ausreichenden O2-Versorgung des Gehirns. Klinisch-therapeutische Möglichkeiten, die zu diesem Ziel führen, beruhen auf den physiologischen Besonderheiten der Regulation der Hirndurchblutung.
