Zusammenfassung
Die Wandung der Gefäße besteht grundsätzlich aus drei, jedoch unterschiedlich ausgeprägten Schichten: Tunica intima (Intima), Tunica media (Media) und Tunica externa seu adventitia (Adventitia). An Venen und Lymphgefäßen bilden Intimaduplikaturen Klappen, deren unterschiedliche Morphologie an Venen erst kürzlich dargestellt wurde33. Die Wand der großen Gefäße wird im inneren Drittel aus dem Blut des Gefäßinhaltes ernährt, die äußeren zwei Drittel führen Vasa vasorum, die über die Adventitia eintreten. Gefäße unter 1 mm Durchmesser haben keine Vasa vasorum. Die Gefäßnerven treten ebenfalls über die Adventitia in die Gefäßwand ein. Sie haben in der Regel nur Kontakt mit der äußeren Media, die Erregungspotentiale werden dann über die „tight junctions” der Muskelzellen fortgeleitet. Der Einfluß der Nerven auf den Tonus der Mediamuskulatur ist örtlich sehr unterschiedlich: Durchtrennung der Gefäßnerven führt in der Haut zur submaximalen Dilatation, in der Niere zu keiner Gefäßerweiterung34.
