Zusammenfassung
Die diagnostische Tätigkeit des Pathologen umfaßt zwei große Bereiche:
-
die autoptische Diagnostik, d. h. die Autopsie (Sektion, Obduktion) verstorbener Patienten mit morphologischer Begutachtung der Organe,
-
die bioptische Diagnostik, d. h. die morphologische Begutachtung der von lebenden Patienten gewonnenen Organ-, Gewebs- oder Zellpräparate (Einzelheiten zur Definition s. u.).
