Zusammenfassung
Das Parkinson-Syndrom ist durch einen progredient verlaufenden neuronalen dopaminergen Funktionsverlust gekennzeichnet. Dieser wird sowohl durch eine zunehmende Degeneration dopaminerger Neurone als auch durch einen Tyrosinhydroxylasemangel mit daraus resultierender Blockade der Umwandlung von Tyrosin zu L-Dopa bedingt. Im weiteren Krankheitsverlauf kommt es aber auch zu zusätzlichen Funktionsstörungen nichtdopaminerger Neurotransmittersysteme. Hier sind neben peptidergen Neuromodulatoren insbesondere GABAerge und glutamaterge Systeme zu nennen.
