Zusammenfassung

Der Beckenboden — Diaphragma pelvis — schließt die Bauchhöhle nach kaudal ab. Durch physiologische Lücken treten das Rektum und Teile des Urogenitalsystems durch die Beckenbodenmuskulatur. Ist diese geschwächt, entsteht eine Senkung. Diese Situation kann im Rahmen einer allgemeinen Bindegewebsschwäche und häufiger durch neuromyogene Schädigungen nach schweren Geburten eintreten [6]. Es entsteht ein Krankheitsbild, das international Descending-Perineum-Syndrom (DPS) genannt wird, nachdem Parks et al. diesen Symptomenkomplex 1966 erforscht und beschrieben haben [10]. Das DPS stellt im proktologischen Krankengut ein nicht seltenes Krankheitsbild dar, das bevorzugt Frauen in der 5. Lebensdekade betrifft [9, 12].
