Zusammenfassung

Eine Kardiomyopathie (CM) ist eine myokardiale Herzkrankheit unbekannter oder bekannter Ätiologie, bei der ein stark vergrößertes Herz mit charakteristischen hämodynamischen Veränderungen im Vordergrund des Krankheitsbildes steht.

Eine Myokardiopathie (MC) ist eine myokardiale Herzkrankheit mit meistens bekannter Ätiologie — entzündlich, metabolisch, toxisch, physikalisch-, bei der das Herz entweder direkt betroffen ist oder im Rahmen einer Allgemeinerkrankung miterkränkt, und die nach Fortfall der auslösenden Noxe bzw. nach Überstehen der Allgemein-erkrankung entweder komplett oder mit Defektbildung ausheilen oder aber auch in eine Kardiomyopathie einmünden kann.
