Zusammenfassung

Entzündungen der Eichel (Balanitis) oder des inneren Vorhautblattes (Posthitis) des männlichen Gliedes treten aufgrund der engen räumlichen Beziehung regelmäßig zusammen auf und werden dann als Balanoposthitis bezeichnet. Häufig liegen prädisponierende Faktoren für eine Balanoposthitis zugrunde, z B Phimose, mechanische Irritationen durch unzweckmäßige Kleidung, schlechte bzw. übertriebene Hygiene, Diabetes mellitus oder allgemeine Abwehrschwäche im Rahmen einer HIV-Infektion. Als Ursachen einer Balanoposthitis kommen in erster Linie mikrobielle Infektionen, Traumen, Smegmaretention, toxische Irritationen und Kontaktallergien in Frage. Die Diagnose stützt sich auf die Anamnese unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Sexualanamnese, des klinischen Befunds und des lichtmikroskopischen Erregernachweises. Bei chronischem Verlauf oder Therapieresistenz ist eine histologische Untersuchung zum Ausschluß einer Neoplasie indiziert.
