Zusammenfassung

Granulomatöse Reaktionen treten im Rahmen verschiedener infektiöser und nichtinfektiöser Erkrankungen auf. Granulome stellen eine fokale, chronisch-entzündliche Reaktion dar, die durch die Ansammlung aktivierter Makrophagen, von Epitheloid- und Riesenzellen sowie von randständigen mononukleären Zellen einschl. T-Lymphozyten und Plasmazellen gekennzeichnet ist. Eosinophile und neutrophile Leukozyten wie auch Fibroblasten sind offenbar sekundär beteiligt. Manche Granulome zeigen zentrale Nekrosen. Ätiologie und Pathogenese der Granulombildung sind im einzelnen uneinheitlich und nur zum Teil geklärt. Grundlegendes Prinzip ist die Aktivierung des mononukleären Phägozytosesvstems durch unterschiedliche Stimuli.
