Particle Beam Parameters

Abstract

Different applications of particle beams require different and often very specific beam characteristics like cross section, divergence, energy spread or pulse structure. To a large extend such parameters can be adjusted by particular application of focusing and other forces. In this chapter, we will discuss some of these methods of beam optimization and manipulation.
