Abstract

In this chapter, the Gibbs sampler is established and a basic version of the annealing algorithm is derived. This is sufficient for many applications in imaging like the computation of MMS or MPM estimators. The reader may (and is encouraged to) perform own computer experiments with these algorithms. He or she may get some ideas from the appendix which provides the necessary tools.
