Abstract

It is important to plan protocols carefully starting with a consideration of the kinds of tissue that are likely to be involved in the study and ways of handling them. They will probably fall in to one of two main types (Table 1) - ‘free-living’ cells (and cell-fractions) or ‘solid’ tissue (and cell-fractions).
