  2. Das RSHA hatte 1938 beim Einmarsch in Österreich den General Andreas Figl, Leiter des österreichischen Dechiffrierdienstes, zusammen mit Unterlagen „erbeutet “. Dies wurde von dem jungen Österreicher Höttl (geb. 1915), 1943 Leiter von Amt VI E, „entdeckt“. Figl konnte sich einigermaßen frei bewegen, er zog vor allem ungarische Kryptologen heran. Höttl spielte später noch eine politische Rolle im österreichischen „Verband der Unabhängigen und in der „Wahlpartei der Unabhängigen“, die 1949 18 Mandate erzielte, dann aber zerfiel.
