Die Funktion der Coenzyme besteht vor allem in der Unterstützung des Enzyms bei der Substratbindung und der Vorbereitung (Orientierung, Polarisierung) des Substrats auf die Umsetzung, sowie auch in der Bindung der Intermediärprodukte.
