Environmental Protection: Problems and Prospects in East and West Germany

Abstract

From a historical point of view, the unification of two politically, economically, socially and also ecologically different or even contrary systems as represented by the former Federal Republic of Germany and the former German Democratic Republic within an extremely short period of time is a unique process without any historical precedent.
