Abstract
Clinical trials can be defined as carefully designed scientific investigations that generate data in order to evaluate therapeutic methods in a patient population. In recent years a clinical trials discipline based on medical and statistical sciences has evolved which has had a particularly salutary significance in clinical cancer research. The more than two hundred types of human malignancies with differing biology require different treatment approaches, and this has encouraged development in cancer trial methodology.
