Einsatz von Atemhilfen

Zusammenfassung

Das unmittelbare Ziel beim Einsatz einer Atemhilfe ist die kurz- oder langfristige Übernahme einer gestörten oder ausgefallenen Atemfunktion. Da die Störung der Atmung unterschiedliche Teilfunktionen wie Atemsteuerung, Atemmechanik oder Gasaustausch erfassen kann, sollte die jeweils eingesetzte Atemhilfe möglichst selektiv die betroffene Funktion unterstützen oder ersetzen. Demnach hängt die Art der Atemhilfe und die Form ihres Einsatzes ganz wesentlich von der Art und Ursache der Funktionsstörung ab.
