Zusammenfassung
Die Wirtschaftsinformatik ist eine Disziplin an der Grenze zwischen Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Informatik. Wirtschaftsinformatik wird synonym zu „Betriebsinformatik“ benutzt, wobei der Begriff „Wirtschaftsinformatik“ zunehmend dominiert. Eine Entsprechung im angelsächsischen Sprachraum läßt sich nicht leicht finden, allenfalls trifft die Bezeichnung „Information Systems“, die freilich vieldeutig ist.
