Abstract
These benign vascular tumors may lead to disastrous occurrences in the spinal cord subglottis region, brain, liver, larynx and orbit with platetet consumption. Treatment in these situations is acceptable, although in the pediatric age group medical management should be attempted first if possible. Complications from the use of steroids can be serious in this population. If hemangiomas are not treated soon enough in critical locations, they may be fatal. Seventy-five percent of the radiation oncologists in the national survey will treat hemangiomas.
